When the devastating floods hit Colorado last month, the first email I got from a concerned friend, checking to make sure I was okay, was from Marion in Australia. We’ve been friends since the mid-1980’s when I lived in Sydney. I visited her and her dogs on her ‘farm’ in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales last  February.

Last week the terrible bush fires raging through the Blue Mountains west of Sydney, reduced  Marion’s home and out-buildings to ashes. Luckily she was at work. A neighbor was able to save the dogs: Peggy, Sox and Angel.

Always the the first to be concerned for others, Marion deserves our compassion, as she rebuilds her life.   Please send your light and love to all who suffer from natural disasters.   It is difficult to imagine such rapid and total loss.
